It is possible to get brown color by mixing a few colors of the color wheel ranging from red to yellow. One of the simple tricks to make brown is to add two primary colors, for instance, red and green or two primary colors let’s say blue with a secondary color orange will make brown. However, it is also possible to determine the intensity of the colors because some colors cancel each other’s effect and increase or decrease the brightness and intensity of each other. It is possible to create a dark effect by adding black or purple color. It will create a chocolate brown color. if someone is using red, yellow, and blue, then they can add more red and blue colors than yellow. For a darker tone, it will be good to mix red with ultramarine blue or black color. 

Many expert artists recommend that if someone is adding black or purple to get dark brown, they must understand the difference between the results obtained by adding both colors. For instance, adding black color will create a smoother look and feel. It will make a brighter mixture as compared to adding purple.
